What the W10780045 does
The W10780045 is a kit of 4 suspension rods that hold the inner tub of a top load washer. Each rod has a spring and a friction ball that absorbs spin cycle vibration. Over years of use the friction grease dries out, the rods stop dampening, and the drum bangs against the cabinet.
Symptoms when this part fails
- Top load washer shaking violently during spin
- Loud banging from inside the cabinet on spin
- Drum visibly bouncing when pushed down and released
- Machine walks across the floor

- Whirlpool top load washers WTW4616, WTW4800, WTW4850 series
- Maytag top load washers MVW series (most)
- Kenmore top load washers built on the Whirlpool platform (110. prefix)
- Amana NTW series
- Most Whirlpool family top loaders built 2010 to present
